Mushroom Soup Recipe

This is an easy, quick homemade mushroom soup. I like to drink this soup a lot during the winter season. Whenever you get a hot soup bowl in the cold, enjoy it. Whenever it comes to soup, I always like creamy and smooth soup. I like chunky soups like veg hot and solar soup or veg manchow soup.

Flour and butter are often roasted briefly to make a creamy soup. This helps to thicken the soup. Later it is boiled by adding milk to it.

I have used white button mushroom to make this creamy mushroom soup. Apart from this, you can make this soup by mixing Kremini mushrooms or both types of mushrooms

Finally, nutmeg powder is added to it, which gives very good taste. You can also add mixed Italian herbs or thyme like herbs instead.

Here I have added the vegetable stock to make the soup thin. You can also take water instead. If you eat non-veg, you can also add chicken stock to it.

Ingredients for Mushroom Soup

1 tbsp butter (butter)
1 small or ½ cup onions chopped
100 grams or 1 cup mushrooms sliced
½ tbsp all-purpose flour
½ cup milk
3 Whole Black Pepper
3 cloves
1 bay leaf
½ cup water or vegetable stock
Salt to taste
Black pepper powder as per taste
¼ tsp nutmeg powder

How To Make Mushroom Soup

In a saucepan or pan, heat the butter on medium heat.

As soon as the butter melts then add the onion. Add a pinch of salt together so that onion cooks quickly.

Roast until the onions turn soft pink and add sliced mushrooms.

Mix it and let it cook. The mushroom will release its own water.

Cook till it becomes soft. All the water will blow until it becomes soft.

Now add refined flour mix well and roast for 1 minute.

Now add milk, bay leaves, cloves, and whole black pepper.

Allow it to boil for 5 minutes, then turn off the gas and let it cool down. It will thicken a bit.

Now remove the bay leaves from it and put the remaining mixture in the mixer to make a puree.

Put it back in the pan and keep the flame on medium. Add vegetable stock or water and pepper powder to it.

Finally, add nutmeg powder.

Mix well and let it come to a boil. Turn off the flame of gas later.

Take it out in a serving bowl and sprinkle black pepper powder over it and garnish.
